FAQ

FRAGFX SHARK PS3 FAQ

Q: will I need to download a software to program my Shark

A: no, all programming is done on the unit itself, fast and convenient - no need to jump back and forth from PC to console

Q: I get no response when my Shark is plugged to the Playstation 3

A: make sure the switch on the dongle is set to 'gamepad'. If it is not, unplug the dongle, switch to 'gamepad' and plug it again.
If the issue persists long press on the PS resp. FX button and re-assign the controller (i.e. to #1)

Q: My Shark PS3 does not connect to the Playstation/PC

A: Chuck and Mouse may have lost connection to the dongle, you can unpair/pair it:

1) unpair/pair the mouse:
- Insert the dongle into the PC or PS3
- Switch the Chuck OFF
- Switch the mouse ON
- Press R1, R2, mousewheel, start, cross, square at the same time
- Switch the mouse off, and on again. The blue LED should now be blinking
- Hold the mouse close (~10cm) to the dongle, and press either cross, square, circle or triangle button
- The LED on the mouse should dim out and the green LED on the dongle should light
- If not, repeat the procedure

2) unpair/pair the chuck:
- Switch the mouse OFF
- Switch the chuck ON
- Press F, L1, L2, select, PS3, L3 (press stick) at the same time
- Switch the chuck off, and on again. The blue LED should now be blinking
- Hold the chuck close (~10cm) to the dongle, and press L1 button
- The LED on the chuck should dim out and the blue LED on the dongle should light
- If not, repeat the procedure

Q: the buttons are not responding as I expect

A: you may have programmed a macro, remapped buttons and/or swapped stick by accident. A factory reset will clear all of this:
1) press FRAG BUTTON + SELECT
2) press & hold analog stick (L3) & Mouse-Wheel for 3 seconds
3) the LED on the mouse will blink and eventually dim out.
4) you are ready for some more fragging

Q: what are the best settings for my games

As a common rule , we recommend you set the In-Game sensitivity to maximum (or close to max.) .
The adjustment wheel (controller dial) function is used to tune the ‘dead zone’.
The ’dead zone’ is an area around the center of the analog stick (in the Shark’s case the mouse movement)
which allows for the aim to rest without the on screen reticule moving all over the place.
You can adjust this in a way to get pixel point accuracy.
If there is no (or barely any) movement on the screen when you move the mouse, the setting is too high.
If movement is direct but the crosshair jumps, the sensitivity is set too low.
The best setting will vary from gamer to gamer.

Check out the recommended game-setting page for suggestions.

Please note that the Shark Classic and V2013 are equipped with two deadzones; one from 0-5; the other from 6-9

Q: how do I program Special functions (PS3, PC, MAC)

A: it's fast and all is programmed on the unit itself - and explained in the manual

Q: I saw a guy knifing by flicking his wrist, how can I do this

A: the motion chip in the Chuck acts as a button, so here you go

pMo (programmed motion)  is programmed through a macro*
1) FRAGBUTTON+SELECT
2) D-pad left for Macro
3) Shake Chuck (= choose and press desired button that will activate macro)
4) Melee Button (R3 in COD series)
5) FRAGBUTTON+SELECT to enable the (mini-)macro

* alternatively pMo can also be programmed through button swap.

you can of course use this for anything, like programming weapon change to the mouse wheel and so on
